Our Jewish Heritage tour of Casablanca begins with visits to the city's most notable synagogues, including Beth El, Eim Habanim, and David Hamelekh, located in the scenic Corniche quarter. While the old Jewish Mellah no longer houses a Jewish community, it remains a fascinating stop to explore its historical streets and the kosher butchers in the market. Next, we visit the Jewish cemetery in the mellah, where beautifully inscribed white stone markers in French, Hebrew, and Spanish tell stories of the past. Continuing on, we’ll explore the Museum of Moroccan Judaism, founded in 1997 by Casablanca’s Jewish community. The museum showcases a rich collection of religious, ethnographic, and artistic artifacts from Jewish daily life in Morocco, including Torahs, Chanukah lamps, sculptures, and paintings. If time permits, we’ll visit Casablanca’s Jewish Club, a testament to the enduring legacy of the Jewish community. You’ll also have the opportunity to stop by one of the city's traditional kosher bakeries or restaurants, such as Cercle de L'Alliance or La Truffe. After our exploration, we will depart Casablanca and make our way to Morocco’s capital, Rabat.
